A new boundary driven NEMD scheme for heat and particle diffusion in binary mixtures

چکیده
A new method for Boundary Driven Non-Equilibrium Molecular Dynamics (BD-NEMD) simulation is presented. It allows the simultaneous imposition of both a constant temperature and concentration gradient. By varying strength imposed gradients obtaining stationary values mass energy flux, this technique can be used to extract Onsager transport coefficients directly. We demonstrate setup measure explicitly Soret Dufour effects binary mixture Argon Krypton. compare coefficient computed using scheme against experimentally inspired protocol where system has no current. However, limited only an estimate rendered inefficient due poor signal-to-noise ratio cannot give explicitly. The accurate measurements non-zero flux and, if run in linear response domain, full set extracted also speculate about how could applied more complex systems with applications polymer separations biological activities.

Driven binary mixtures: Clustering and giant diffusion
– We study noise-assisted transport in a binary mixture of overdamped interacting particles. As one species (termed “active”) is subject to a weak dc drive, the other one (termed “passive”) can be dragged along due to the clustering of particles of both species. On increasing the external drive, clusters of different size fragment at different thresholds that depend on the mixture temperature, ...
متن کاملSimulation of particle diffusion and heat transfer in a two-phase turbulent boundary layer using the Eulerian-Eulerian approach
This work investigates the response of two-dimensional, turbulent boundary layer characteristics over a flat plate to the presence of suspended particulate matter. Both phases are assumed to be interacting continua. That is, the carrier fluid equations are considered to be coupled with the particle-phase equations. A finite-difference technique with non-uniform grid has been employed for the so...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation in Pool Boiling Heat Transfer of Pure/Binary Mixtures and Heat Transfer Correlations
Nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficient have been experimentally measured on a horizontal rod heater for various liquid binary mixtures. Measurements are based on more than three hundred data points on a wide range of concentrations and heat fluxes. In this investigation, it has been confirmed that the heat transfer coefficient in boiling solutions are regularly less than those in p...
متن کاملpassivity in waiting for godot and endgame: a psychoanalytic reading
this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...
